Registration and sign-in
New public accounts require email verification. Sign in later with a new email code; no password is needed. Check spam if a code is missing. Codes expire after 10 minutes. Use Teacher / existing password account for accounts created by your teacher or for older accounts.
Games and connectivity
Your first registration or sign-in requires an internet connection. After that, practice uses the local KataGo engine, saving games and levels on your device even offline. Each account has separate progress. Add and switch accounts in Me. When online, current games, levels and completed records sync both ways. Keep the app open for a large initial history sync. If the same account advances differently on two devices, both saves are kept; choose which progress to continue in Me. Uninstalling may delete unsynced local saves.
Levels
New players start at level 1. There are 45 main levels, each with 9 transition stages: 450 stages in total. Consecutive main-level wins advance 1, 2, then 3 levels, capped at 3. On reaching a new board size or playing White for the first time, progression stops at that section's first level. A main-level loss starts transition training for that level. Transition wins and losses move one stage up or down, with a floor at the lowest stage. Streaks restart on returning to a main level. A draw keeps your stage and resets the streak. Winning at level 45 keeps your level.
Finishing a game
The minimum counts actual placements by both players, excluding preset handicap stones and passes. Minimums for 7x7, 9x9, 11x11, 13x13, 15x15 and 19x19 boards are 12, 20, 30, 42, 56 and 90. Reaching the minimum does not end the game. Tap Finish and confirm to have the AI score the current board. You may resign before the minimum; resignation counts as a loss. The AI also checks for completion on its turn. When AI computation takes less than 2 seconds, its total move time is randomly paced between 2 and 5 seconds; otherwise it plays as soon as computation finishes. Both players’ elapsed times are saved with the game. Practice clocks pause when you leave the board or put the app in the background. Friendly-game clocks run on the server and pause during finish confirmation and scoring. Local AI life-and-death assessments may contain errors.
Game history
Completed practice games appear in Me → Game history. Records are sorted newest first, with win/loss labels and a level progression chart. Open a record to replay moves. Interactive variations and AI review suggestions are not included in this version.
Delete your account
In Me → Delete account, verify with an email code or your existing password and confirm deletion. This permanently removes the account and its associated cloud records. Other accounts on the device remain available.
