Yao Shen operates GlobalWeiqi as an individual and is responsible for the app's handling of user data.
Data saved for play
We store your email, username, name or nickname, training level, game records, results, each player’s elapsed time, game counts, teaching relationships and access grants to support sign-in, game recovery, progression and teaching access. Email accounts have no password. Existing and teacher accounts use a salted password hash. Your name or nickname is visible to friendly-game opponents and authorized teachers.
Connections and storage
AI practice runs on your device, where games and progress are saved. When online, each account's current game, level and completed records sync over an encrypted connection to play.weiqiclass.com on Alibaba Cloud in mainland China. Local records remain separate for each account. Users of a shared device can switch to saved accounts. The iPhone app stores sign-in credentials in the system Keychain. The website uses session cookies and saves account-specific progress and records in the browser’s local database, without storing plaintext passwords. The browser caches public engine and model resources for offline practice. Clearing site data removes unsynced local saves, so sync or export a backup first. Friendly-game moves and clocks are maintained by the server. The server processes necessary access logs, including IP addresses, request paths, timestamps, response statuses and client information, for security and troubleshooting. If you contact support by email, we process the contact details, problem descriptions and attachments you provide to respond and help resolve the issue. Do not send passwords or verification codes.
Email verification
Alibaba Cloud Direct Mail delivers registration and sign-in codes and processes the recipient address and email content. Codes expire in 10 minutes; only verification digests are stored. Abuse-prevention records are deleted during scheduled cleanup. Email is used only for account verification and essential service notices, not marketing. Teacher-provided accounts do not require an email address.
Use by minors
GlobalWeiqi has no blanket minimum age of 18 and does not ask for a date of birth or identity documents. Where parental consent is required for data processing, a parent or guardian should participate in setting up and managing a minor’s account. Parents and guardians can contact info@globalweiqi.com to request access, correction or deletion. Age declarations saved by earlier beta versions are no longer used to restrict access.
Friendly games and copied codes
Your opponent can see your nickname, color and this game's moves. Four-digit invitation codes expire after 15 minutes or one use. Share them only with your intended opponent. Copy code writes the code to the system clipboard. The app does not read clipboard contents.
Permissions and third parties
This version has no advertising or third-party behavioral tracking and does not request location, contacts, camera or microphone access. During TestFlight testing, Apple may collect beta feedback and crash information under its own policies.
Game sharing
When you choose to share, a web copy of this game and its result is created. Anyone with the link or QR code can replay, try moves and use browser-local AI analysis (the first use downloads the engine) without signing in. Your email and other games are not published. Stop sharing to immediately disable the old link. Deleting your account also deletes its shares. Copying or sharing a link writes it to the clipboard or passes it to the app you select.
Retention and deletion
Game and access data are kept while your account is in use. In Me → Delete account, verify with an email code or your existing password to delete the account and associated games. Deletion also affects the website and removes the account's save on this device. Offline copies on other devices must be removed on those devices. Uninstalling deletes local app data. Scheduled backups rotate within 30 days and are used only for recovery.
